I've been paying my student loans for almost 10 years now, and still have 6 figures left to go. I'm done paying the federal loans I had, and only have private loans left, which won't be forgiven. I want Biden to forgive federal loans for everyone else.

Why? Because I know crushing weight, and don't wish it on anyone. Because suddenly having a few hundred extra dollars to spend can be HUGE for some people/families. So the people who haven't gotten the kind of lucky break I did this year can feel a bit of relief.

And to that second point-- Remember when Bush sent out a one-time $500 stimulus check? Imagine that, except every month for the rest of your life. People having more money to spend is a direct stimulus to the entire economy.

And since I usually get people asking "HOW?" in regards to my situation: It's what happens when you allow predatory for-profit "colleges" to talk to 18 year old kids who are struggling at community college, but have a DREAM, damnit!

And then the market crashed in my last year of college, so I was 20ish years old and faced with a decision: Take one more loan with a 13% APR so I could finish my bachelor's degree, or walk away without a degree and $70k in debt anyway.
