    Networking friends! Just found out fiber is available in my area. Looking at 2gig plans, but believe I would need to upgrade current infra. Main BR = UDM Base Can someone confirm? If I should upgrade, should I do UDM Pro / SE + Switch Pro? Recs welcome!

    Wrote an function in Python that I call from that helps me capture dividends. It tracks holidays and weekends and tells you the last chance to purchase. That is not always the day before the ex-date when that is the weekend or a holiday.

    And for reference, here are the two parts side by side. Incorrect motor on the left, correct (but non-working) motor on the right. Aside from the length difference, the wires weren't even in the same place, nor did one end have bolt holes.

    I got it fixed though. Now I can add furniture repair person to my resume. Oh yeah, see that hole on the right - he cut that since the wires for the incorrect part came out the back rather than the front.

    Never, in all my years in a technical / repair driven field, have I encountered a company or technician who would quite literally hammer a square peg in a round hole, or use a twisted piece of cheap metal in place of a bolt. I mean…

    After he left, I got the correct part, and went to install it myself. His twisted wire repair fell apart in my hand.

    I told him I appreciate his obligation to the warranty company, but as a customer, this isn't a resolution, nor is it safe. He shrugged said, "I got it working. That's all they care about."

    It was only after I pressed him a few times, and explained I'm technical (and mechanical), did he admit the warranty company "has policies" that require him to perform a repair at any means necessary... even if it's wrong.

    Not only was the part blatantly incorrect by not supporting the bolt holes necessary, it was also too long. I called him on it by noting this part looked different than the part he pulled out. This picture shows it not seating flush against the couch frame, as it should.

    We had a motorized recliner break 4 mo. ago. Filed a warranty claim, had 2 appointments to troubleshoot, received a part from Amazon, and technician came to install it... here's his "fix" after realizing the motor sent was incorrect. 🧵 (reposting with better pics) cc:
