      It's extremely annoying that Cocoa APIs return String vs. NSString in Swift. So much casting!

      @owensd Where are you needing to cast? It is normally implicitly toll free bridged isn't it?

          @jl_hfl either need "let foo: NSString = ..." or "let foo = ... as NSString". Also, any function parameters.

          @owensd For function params you can pass an String and the compiler will make sure it is bridged to NSString (or c string) if required.

          @jl_hfl @owensd You need to cast to call NSString-specific methods. And I’m not sure that kind of casting is toll-free.
