one strategy I use to minimize the likelihood of awareness after intubation is to consider RSI = 3 meds NMBA induction sedative post intubation sedation I always ask for all 3 up front, I shouldn’t be surprised that I’ll need post intubation sedation in a few minutes

This is not funny and it’s not cool. As much as I’d love to say it doesn’t bother me, it does. It makes me feel like sh*t. Especially as VJ who is always alone. This still happens to female reporters everywhere and it needs to stop.

Tell me how your community is doing in the pandemic without *telling* me how your community is doing in the pandemic. I’ll go first. I’m still telling ppl they can spread COVID to family members, all of them, even if they feel fine w their + test. They still don’t believe me.

Biden is about to come on shift with 100 in the waiting room, 24 ICU holds, 6:1 nurse ratios, shortages on PPE, dilaudid, haldol, morphine, ativan, ketamine & zofran. And every patient has covid. Oh & the offgoing team stopped seeing pts 4 hrs ago, and left already w/o signout.

This week is full of hope that finally feels tangible. We can now see a light at the end of the tunnel & it is no longer the light of an oncoming train but the light of Science. For the first time in many months, I am filled with happiness & hope...finally feels like Christmas.
