Dana, SF has become a candy land for criminals and drug addicts. Residents are terrorized everyday by people shooting drugs out in the open, broken windows and burglaries. This is not okay!
It's not. The answer is to do what Dana says, not to cage and terrorize those afflicted with homelessness, mental health issues and addiction.

(Not sure if this is sarcasm) to clarify, Im not saying put them in jail. But the truth is they are not doing anything to help those who are afflicted with addiction and homelessness. They even supply them drugs! Why not mandate and fund professional treatment?
-
Mandate? That’s not how it works. None of this advice has been effective anywhere. On the other hand the exact opposite (empathy, compassion, decriminalizion, investing in homes and medical services) has been wry effective in the Netherlands, Portugal, etc

Jake. - the drug dealers are not homeless (they have apts in the east bay), they are not mentally ill, and they certainly don’t do their own drugs. Don’t deflect. We want the dealers arrested and jailed.
-
And deported if illegally resident in the USA.

I only want to terrorize the drug dealers. We had 600+ OD deaths last year, more than twice the number of COVID deaths. These are people who make a living by knowingly slowly killing the very homeless that you care about. They belong behind bars, not matter their circumstances.
