In 2017 before an Eagles game I was walking my dog around City Hall in Philadelphia when he ran up to this couple taking their wedding photos. I really wonder if he’s in their wedding album 🤣#gobirds! Sorry he went right for your man 🤦🏼‍♀️ #SuperBowlLVII#eagles#corgi

In the town of Whittier, Alaska, almost everyone lives in one building. 90% of the town’s residents live in one 14-story building - that also houses a post office, shop, police station, health clinic, and a bed & breakfast. #akleg

Florida SRO was "dry firing" handgun in his office when gun fired Monday afternoon. Bullet went through the office wall, across the school hallway at shoulder level, through a classroom wall, and lodged in a bookcase. Students were inside the classroom when the shot was fired.

This apparently started because the kid said he wasn't feeling well and didn't want to play kickball. It ended with a school cop pepper spraying him, pulling him to the ground by his hair, and arresting him. Kid's now facing multiple charges.

Sooooo some of our VICE offices are off today in order to observe Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, even though the company hasn't budged on recognizing Indigenous Peoples' Day. I guess management thinks it's important to pay respect to the empire, but not the people it colonized 🤔

I got emails surrounding a proposed equipment swap between Omaha police and 88 Tactical, a far right-linked gun shop. Activists fear the trade shows police willingness to work with organizations that have ties to the far right. My latest for @Hatewatch splcenter.org/hatewatch/2022

Psyched to see ACAP mentioned in this great piece from last week about how little cops do for us, because they don't have to, they don't care to, and that's just not why they exist

The lionization of police is as deep seated as any American ideology — resistant to buckling under its own contradictions and obvious falsities... my latest @theintercept theintercept.com/2022/05/27/uva

As I see it, its one in the same. The fact that 19 armed, trained officers waited outside a classroom while kids were slaughtered inside shows how hollow the “good guy with a gun” myth is. I cannot believe Ted Cruz, Trump, etc, are still invoking that myth after the last week.
