Tweeting this so I can pin it: I recently wrote a book called Deconstruction Machines, about cyberwar, deconstruction, writing and--if I can be so bold--the nature of technology and programming in the 21st century. You can buy it here:

The uniquely american mixture of technological evangelism with an ineptitude in building technical systems (especially accounting for their social dimensions) is a much greater threat to the smooth functioning of american democratic institutions than any foreign actor

I rarely travel for work, and usually don't have meals covered, and even I know you are supposed to eat the hamburger in bed. (especially if you have a room with two beds so you can have a dinner bed and a sleeping bed)

Say what you will about American democracy, but you have to grant that at the end of the day it is is one of the weirder forms of governance

The drying machine broke - I think the drive belt snapped - and the sound of an engine whirring frantically with no perceptible outcome, and shutting itself down, and whirring back on, and off and on and... is making me feel affection for this kindred Extremely Anxious Soul 🌀

I would say out of all the things communication technology (such as social media, texting, etc.) are able to facilitate, the one I appreciate the most is its help in finding and purchasing face cords of wood from strangers in my local area.

Maybe the first portable ‘computer’ — the DYSEAC, operational April 1954; digital and programmable. I assume this has been posted on aggregators etc before, but I have something coming out about its architecture

Really excited to speak in a few weeks at this conference on Derrida's Life-Death seminar; I'll be talking about artificial intelligence, cellular automata and the idea of the program in cybernetics and deconstruction.

We need to talk about racism in the Jewish community. And we need to talk about anti-Blackness in the Jewish community, and how that specific form of racism and white supremacy manifests differently from other forms of racism.

What a trick anglophone Derrideans have played on Derrida by simply pronouncing différance with a French accent, thus making auditory this term whose specificity was supposed to be the privilege of writing

I co-edited a special edition of Deleuze and Guattari Studies, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Difference and Repetition. In addition to my own new piece, there are pieces by Dan Smith, Len Lawlor, Daniela Voss, Janae Sholtz, and more!

Ok, stats/data question for you all: in head to head polls like this is the margin of error on each estimate or on the difference between them (or is it somehow on both due to combining them)?

I won’t say who but I know someone who has made this even simpler by spoofing the gps signal for a rack of cell phones, meaning they can create traffic jams anywhere in the world from the comfort of home

I’m sure that text box on the metadata page will go a long way to prevent the harm caused by that article claiming corona virus has hiv genes and is thus human-made (oh and that people are linking directly to the pdf rather than the page with the warning)
