Dear @CTIA, I'd like to introduce you to the Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS), a real instrument in flight right now with a sensing band at 23.8 GHz. Sure, NPOESS was cancelled but JPSS is the backbone of US-world space observing. #FactsMatter https://www.jpss.noaa.gov/atms.html

Jordan, that is precisely our point. The ATMS sensor is smaller and has a wider beamwidth than the canceled CMIS sensor, which makes it less sensitive to nearby 5G signals.

I'm not particularly well versed, but ran a wireless ISP and used unlicensed 24GHz spectrum to sling gigabit fiber; this happens globally, especially in Africa where wireless doesn't get "dug up" for copper. Does this too, not impact you?

Why also, would backpedalling a formerly "GLOBALLY AVAILABLE 24 GHz" into licensed spectrum, make ANY sense at this point, beyond lining the pockets of a few telecoms?

One final thought: 6.5.3.2.2 Additional spurious emission requirements for NS_201. This is the same that required my 5GHz radios to immediately SHUNT and NO LONGER USE freqs in spectrum when detecting use on nearby Camp Pendleton by USMC. It worked.

@blakereid More on that 23.8 GHz weather sensor and 5G. And I really hope I twittered this right so you'll see @jjgerth's reply to the CTIA's original tweet.
