An update to this. Weird thing. Apparently, this claim was filed with a DMCA takedown. That's fine, that's how these things normally work even though Robin doesn't understand how copyright works and can't claim a song on name alone. The weird thing is the dispute process:https://twitter.com/jjbbllkk/status/1139217342724861952 …

When you first get the notice of the claim, you are able to dispute through SoundCloud's interface. You fill out a bunch of stuff and hit send and then (presumably) the person making the claim gets to review it and decide if it's valid. This is the same way YouTube works.

Don't get me started on how flawed the concept is of the claimant getting to be judge, jury, and executioner. That's a whole kettle of fish that stinks to high heaven I can't even with. The weird thing is what happens when you reach out to SoundCloud for more help.

Fun fact:
@TeamYouTube have the exact same approach to copyright claims, where it's "guilty until proven innocent". eg: I'm currently contesting the second attempt that false-claim-makers@Ingrooves /@spintwistrec have tried to claim they own copyright of free GFX@beeple made.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
