I watched it last night for the first time in ages and thought she did a great job. Now clear the BBC is controlled by the government. Says it all and so much for being independent.

This is disgusting. All those approached to host Newsnight ought to refuse and demand that Emily Maitlis is reinstated. The BBC is the national broadcaster, not a component of the governments propoganda machine.
