Of all my husband’s injuries (Infantry 10th IED blast, Iraq) TBI is the most life changing. It impacts us each day, even 12 years later. Mistakenly thinking it wasn’t serious & sending him back out over and over is exactly what caused so much cumulative damage in the last blast.

My family member has been impaired for years now. It changed who he was permanently. He had to drop out of school. It caused depression from the location of the concussion. He had a future in professional sports and was an A student. Full sports scholarship. It’s a big deal.

This is a very sad day when the leader of our nation has no clue about the impact of head injuries and how the daily horrific military suicides are related, the endless pain & challenge of veterans and our military families dealing with their heroes with CHI,TBI,PTSD. Dismayed.
