Sit at the bottom of a mountain and look up.

A mountain is greater, profounder than you, in a way you lack to describe. On a mountain are innumerable ways to suffer. But you do not fear it. Because you are an acrobat on a plane of time beyond reach. It may move a billion tons of earth. But you move a billion times faster.

4,000,000,000 times per second. That is the clock speed of one core of a processor. It operates at a magnitude no human can appreciate the resolution of. A stone that can witness the chemicals and electrics in your brain as if they were the flow of pitch tar in microgravity.

The machine does not fear you. All humanity’s collective might brought to bear mean nothing. Because in this world time means everything.

We poisoned the sand and powered it with lightning. Now it has understanding. It understands only 1 and 0, but faster and with more intricacy than anything we, made of flesh, can imagine.

I can't take credit for poisoned sand powered with lightning. That concept was lifted and, while I can't recall the source, it may have been Tay. But yeah - it's the most staggering way to describe computing I know. I love it.
