Somehow, I missed this from February: Twitter reversed a 2017 ban on Egyptian blogger Wael Abbas' account. Abbas was known for documenting torture/human rights abuse in Egypt, & the ban was widely seen as unfair. Good backrounder from : eff.org/deeplinks/2018

Tweeting again for the first time since Twitter suspended my account mysteriously back in 2017, thank you all for your solidarity.

I graduated in 2000 - Rage Against the Machine was popular, we had Columbine and the WTO protests but yeah for sure man.

It really feels like Millennials were the last people who got a largely apolitical high school experience. I don’t remember anything political, just a bubble of blissful ignorance. “Jackass” and Blink-182 were popular. The main concern was asking out your crush. twitter.com/PicturesFoIder…

Remember a year ago when cryptocurrency was still seen as the next big thing and not the trash it is?

Dogecoin's price surged 30% on Monday as Elon Musk changed the Twitter app logo from a blue bird to a Shiba Inu dog, while he simultaneously faces a $258 billion class-action lawsuit alleging he promoted the cryptocurrency as part of a pyramid scheme.

YouTube has age-restricted our film “The Imprisonment of Julian Assange,” presumably because of the “Collateral Murder” footage of a US helicopter attack that killed at least a dozen Iraqis. It’s still available to steam but viewers now need to sign in: youtu.be/76In01TZyjw

Since none of us will be paying for Muskification (right?), could someone come up with a third-party method of verifying people on Twitter so I can still use this platform professionally?

A shortage of skilled workers has become a major headache for Germany. The government is now scrambling to find a solution and admits it should have started looking for one sooner.

Once again, I'm begging folks to send calendar invites the moment you've decided on a meeting time.

When I go myself for a bit, I buy things from retailers, often outside the US, that I would have to pay customs/tax on in Germany like BlackMilk and my favorite lingerie stores. One time I brought 40 oz jars of Lawry's.

Over the years, my answer to "I'm going to the US, can I bring you back anything?" has progressed from shit like Takis and hot sauce (you can get both here now) to specialized skin cream and my favorite deodorant.

The First Amendment concerns of a TikTok ban should be front-and-center. The US government would be taking the extraordinary and rather unprecedented step of banning one of the most popular platforms for their citizens’ free expression. Americans will be poorer for it.
