DC's leadership is ahead of the permanent changes to the world of work. Advantages; a very livable and walkable 15-minute/activity center city. And challenges, as Federal agencies grapple with flexible work -- a politically delicate recruiting/retention advantage.

Cover this week: D.C.'s solution to its Covid slump is a building boom — 100,000 downtown residents, four times what it is today. "There wouldn’t be a downtown in the country like this. It would be extraordinary. Singular.” bizjournals.com/washington/new
Timely, as Alphabet announces $500 mill in charges related to exiting office space leases (per ). Flexibility is a key differentiator for government employers -- but politically challenging given legit concerns about downtown economies, and transit funding.

Yes, but 'adoption' doesn't = attention. Frequency of use, and time spent with the app, dramatically different. ChatGPT and its derivatives' use -- if successful -- will look more like Word than Insta or TikTok.

How compelling is AI, even in its current state? ChatGPT is likely the fastest-adopted product in history. It reached 100M users in 2 months. It took TikTok 9 months to reach 100M users, Instagram 2.5 years, and Facebook 4.5 years. reuters.com/technology/cha
