That's still tiny, Jessica. You know that. It may well be a trend but that's a few summer birds in early March so doesn't indicate one. Also, I'm guessing I can blame the editor for the 80 users not being mentioned anywhere in the copy?

Absolutely not. It was an oversight on my part. One I will fix. This was actually the second time this has showed up for us in talking to users. And Instagram's growth numbers in the Pew survey bear it out. Thank you for making a very good point.

On a more serious note, people have been saying for years how the consolidation of social services/data is a terrible thing. This is a good example of why. It’s too hard to get away from a set of policies that you don’t like when great products are all owned by the same companies

The bad part about that is that the high School drama that doesn't normally happen on Instagram will now. However, no obligation to follow a person. Instagram is my safe zone and I won't be changing that, besides it's only temporary due to the knee jerk reactions.
