(1) man found with numchuk like weapon, released after brief confrontation and showing ID. (2) man accused of being undercover cop, beaten and restrained with zip ties. Paramedic reached him to give him oxygen and aid after he passed out. evacuated to ambulance after 4-5 hours.

how did the initial suspicions come abt? for #2 for example, the "evidence" that is the google search result was not possible before he got forced to surrender ID and searched etc.

Yes the explanations for why he was detained changed wildly through the night. I was initially told he had no ID, which would have been sus, but obviously not true. He did something which freaked people out and then it escalated dramatically as he couldn’t prove a negative.

For the last guy who was tied up: When asked, he said he was a tourist and that a friend gave him the hi-vis. Having found the blue T-shirt in his backpack which has the same design as thugs who attacked ppl indiscriminately in Tsuen Wan last weekend. They were v paranoid.

It wasn’t the same blue T-shirt. The blue T-shirt worm by those we beat people up said I love HK. His says I love police.
