That is absolutely not the only way you could argue against free college tuition. For example it doesn’t increase access for those at the intersection of race and poverty because it builds on a 12 year head start by white Americans in education...

Since it doesn’t cover room board, books and supplies it will not increase access for those at the bottom of the income distribution. I fact research has shown that free tuition has greater benefit for those in the top quarter of income distributions than the bottom...

Since it is for public schools only it could hurt HBCUs and historic women’s colleges as well. I want increased access to affordable college, I want education, pre-K through BA/BS to be a right. The specific Sanders plan we are discussing doesn’t do that. So pass.
