International backend integrations will occur before mainstream consumer use. Killer apps will just make B2B, x-border & remit fast & cheap.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I tend to view #bitcoin as the backend everybody will use in the future. I take a very long view.

#bitcoin -- and that started in 2014 -- easy to deploy many consumer apps. -
And that's just Gen-1 stuff, Doing Existing Stuff Better. Gen-2 is using new P2P trust relationships to reshape business transactions.

#bitcoin is just the bare minimum, Just Got It Working essentials. It's the 1988 pre-HTTP Internet. -
#Bitcoin addresses? Ugly; No UX person would ever expose that to Aunt Tillie. That's Gen-1 material. Gen-2 hides & secures that. -
