Dear new followers, I'd love to follow back most of you. However, Twitter doesn't believe I should be allowed to follow >5000 people. So bear with me while I unfollow some folk in the near future.

Telephone-based disarming strategy. Very good. The telephone causes a lot of misery in healthcare delivery. People think they can say what they like because you're not within punching distance of each other.

In my opinion we clinicians have a responsibility to understand how resources are deployed within the NHS and to be responsible for population as well as individual health.

We had a patient’s family member come at us verbally aggressive, disruptive & combative. With zero hesitation our managers called Patient Relations, security & made a behavioral plan on the spot for how this family member is expected to treat staff. This 👏 is 👏 you 👏 lead! 🌟

Having spent most of today ploughing through articles on AI and machine learning for couple of papers I’m writing - the blind faith that some place on these methods is really worrying. Weakly evaluated black box data-driven medicine concerns me.

If you want to know how the NHS has changed; today I received a £70 parking fine from for parking in the wrong staff car park of my own hospital for 90 minutes. It was the only way I could get to 2 hospital meetings on time

Who agrees with me that a lot of people who voted in 2016 on the withdrawal from the EU did not in hindsight know what they were voting for . Now they realise we are in deep sh.. The people we are negotiating with did not ask for us to leave so why should they make a deal easy

How do you improve morale? When senior management is visible on the shop floor (including out of hours) and tries to learn about things that could be improved. My dream senior manager would ask me & my team: "What can I fix for you tonight?"
