Yup. Gamergate was the preshow for the alt-right. Milo, Breitbart, etc., all made the transition seamlessly. Nobody involved in gg ever cared about games. They were experimenting & trying out tactics, before they started focusing on the only real game: politics.https://twitter.com/ErynnBrook/status/1080968316540248064 …

The gaslighting continues, even in this thread. It was super fun to watch this happen in real time and be continuously told that no, what I'm seeing isn't really real. Even if we accept that right wing reactionary recruiting wasn't the original intent, it was still the outcome.

GamerGate is a divorce between liberal libertarians and liberal authoritarians after major sites tried to completely purge GG completely from their servers. Two sides had to be chosen as one did not see a problem with this and the other wonders what grander ambitions can do.

That happened after it became apparent that GG had nothing to do with ethics or journalism at all and was in fact a campaign of targeted doxxing and harassment of women and queer folks with the express intent of purging them from the industry but thanks for playing!

Also, there's no instances of Gamergate doxxing anyone. It was banned on every GG chatroom and forum from the start.
