How did those teams organise work? How do they plan? How do they track progress? How do they learn? How do they know if they're doing well or not?

I had a far less articulate and wide ranging critique along these lines when I saw a tweet about how tools for agile are bad and the only good tool is a whiteboard. I'll take the mediocrity of Jira over what some people do let loose on a whiteboard.

If I ever found myself on a team that needed to follow the Agile manifesto to prevent themselves from implementing some awful, miserable “bro-cess” I’d be scrambling to find a better position. That sounds like an awful place.

Reasonable when the effectiveness of Agile in a team is tied to your professional success. Less so if you’re flitting around with cross-team work, hitting groupthink process barriers, find agile used effectively to implement what shouldn’t exist, or when bad Agile is opportunity.
