1. I don't think The Beach Boys are bad or untalented, but I do find their music very run of the mill & boring. You could argue “well that's because they invented that sound", which I’d respond with “then why wouldn't I listen to someone who's expanded on it?”

2. In terms of commercial success in hip hop, writing even basic lyricism in music is not only unnecessary but actively discouraged, as constructing random nonsense/bars that are straight up incorrect (Ex. “Blow my dick like a cello”) are more quotable and will generate more buzz

3. Everything SOPHIE has released after PRODUCT has either been very comfortable & boring, a retread of something she’s already done, or pandering nonsense to a (mostly) blinded fanbase, ultimately going against everything SOPHIE originally stood for.

4. Unless you’re trying to push barriers in your given genre & just be really weird, creating music with a lack of melody is just fucking stupid (side note that is not a weird take at all: majority of the time, melody is the most important aspect in a song)

5. There are just as many white moms who are too scared to play hip hop that isn’t NF or Macklemore as there are people who subconsciously shit on white rappers without even knowing it & give them MUCH less credit than rappers of a different skin colour
