5G operates on the same bands as 4GLTE, which is also the same as what OTA TV used to broadcast at. If you are worried about it being used to spy on people today then you should've been worried about television in the 90's.

To be clear it is totally fine to have concerns about security in relation to foreign powers. But 5G as a technology is literally 4GLTE but faster. So it stands to reason that if you are scared of 5G you should also be scared of 4G because it's essentially the same thing.
