I'm trying to locate the right music for working in this melty heat, but I don't know the name of the genre. It's like drum n bass, but with that faster skiffly drum beat instead of the more sluggish one... any clues? Alternative - anyone who sounds like Jon Hopkins. SUGGESTIONS.

I second Yokota, so beautiful. My personal favourite is to not work against the circumstances but embrace them - either http://poolside.fm or https://www.nts.live/infinite-mixtapes/poolside …

There has been cowbell and vibraslap already, and an optimistic suspended chord sequence akin to the backing music in Sister Act 2. I'm in.

Your linking to an url based radio station has reminded me that my PhD was fuelled by writhem fm (sadly no longer a thing) and jet set radio, which apparently IS still a thing! And can be found here: https://jetsetradio.live/
