Yeah so basically, no ways to have a free Go IDE. I mean, as a Ultimate subscriber this doesn't bother me at all, but for many other who still use the community edition this is pretty rough to take

If you can take some time to contribute to an OSS project, then JetBrains offers licences to OSS contributors: https://www.jetbrains.com/buy/opensource/ We've used this extensively over the years across many OSS projects (
@sqlitebrowser,@gluster, and others :>)

I wonder why the situation is different for Swift, which one cannot get as part of IntelliJ iDEA Ultimate subscription, and only as standalone IDE.

Who wrote the plugin for IntelliJ? Was it JetBrains? If so, I don't see a problem.
-
Yes. It was us.

That's great news! I hope to see a dedicated Rust IDE from Jetbrains soon! It's the developers' most loved programming language, afterall.

What's the suggested setup for a project that uses C++ and Go? C++ support is not available as a plugin for Ultimate edition. I solved this by using
@clion_ide with@GoLandIDE plugin. Is there a way to do this that I'm missing? -
For now, unfortunately, the only option is to use both CLion and GoLand.
