I've been a huge @resharper fan for many many years, but I think the time has finally come to uninstall it. It's just not worth it anymore. The entire @VisualStudio IDE just becomes unusably sluggish.

I can't really put my finger on what pushed me over the edge. It could be using
@JetBrainsRider on my Mac that opened my eyes. It sucks, cause I use a lot of R# features and VS just hasn't cought up yet, but what I gain in refactoring productivity, I lose with a slow editor.3 replies 0 retweets 6 likesShow this thread -
It also feels like perf has been degrading the last year. I honestly don't know how committed
@jetbrains is to R# (the VS bits of it) now that they have Rider. I guess slow VS could even be considered a feature by now

hi!R# is as important for us as Rider since Rider is R# (Rider+R# share a common codebase). To make R# work better we put a lot of effort into taking ReSharper out of process. Work on one of the stages has been completed in R# 2019.2 - it's "Read solution model" option.
