why do you commit from the command line on the first place? Just configure Commit Message inspections in RubyMine and take your time to compose the message in the IDE's commit dialog.

this might just work. Thanks! I've genuinely never needed to worry too much before tbh, so just did the usual git commit -m "type quick message" and we would update all the information on GitHub in the PR itself if it need anything else, but this looks like it'll work perfectly
