People who are very attached to their identity as “good” or “nice” people are ticking time bombs. ⚠️ 💣

All Souls Catholic School in Englewood has fired a teacher for being in a same-sex relationship. Teacher never talked about it, but school found out and canned her. Archdiocese says "same-sex attraction isn't cause for termination." Just don't act on it.

On a mayoral panel tonight a candidate proposed involuntary commitments for unhoused people. Another would "compassionately" force them into shelters. One wants more police & sweeps. This is why we need an educator/service provider as mayor. The alternatives are frightening.

This year I decided to do the 30 day yoga challenge and today was my 32nd day doing yoga and I feel pretty good about it.

"As your Councilwoman, the part I play is sometimes to stand apart from my colleagues in order to present an alternative perspective and vision that reflects what I have heard from YOU" I think Candi CdeBaca is great and if you live in D9 you should vote 4 her!

I think we should all talk about salaries because it benefits everyone to do so, especially for women, POC and other historically underpaid groups. I make $60,000 in my current job, started my previous job (first out of journalism school) at $35,000 and ended at about $41,000.

Recently, one of my college students asked me what my salary was. I laughed. She was serious. She said many younger people are sharing their salary w/ colleagues. Transparency = pay equality. So would you share your salary with a co-worker? Have you? *BTW, I didn't tell her.

Man responds to political post, gets political answers, and further responds “hey hey hey slow down everyone, not trying to grind political axes here.”

Supporting sweeps while asking for them to be audited is performative. We already know that sweeps waste taxpayer money and make it harder to connect those in need with resources. I support housing-first solutions to homelessness because it works, saves lives and money.

We need to audit our existing spending on the homelessness crisis, and redirect those funds – a transformative amount of money, if we spend it correctly – to proven solutions for both the housed and the unhoused.

When we asked how to create more affordable housing, we contacted ; D10 city councilman didn't respond. Candi informed us of Denver's low linkage fees & barriers at municipal & state level. Then she got to work. Leadership is when policy mirrors values. #VOTECANDI

Fundraising numbers are up, and we are on track to raise over $165,000 from our scaled-up January fundraising push! On top of that, based on December filings, we have the LOWEST average donation and highest % of Denver donors -- we are a campaign of the people and BY the people.

One of the primary features of polite transphobia is the weaponization of uncertainty. The obvious reason more kids identify as trans is that trans people have become more visible and accepted in society. Yet these articles always cast it as some kind of enduring mystery.

Mmm, candidates naming specific policy goals and the mechanisms to achieve them is very hot.

You know, people should really care about this since these federal programs are practically the only ones most cities currently use to house very low income households, from low-to-no income to 60% of the area median income. That's a lot of us and our neighbors.

Pre-application for a chance to be in a lottery to apply to be on another waitlist. 15,000 applicants. The waitlist for the waitlist had been closed 6 years. Municipalities can't rely on eviscerated federal programs. Must take matters into their own hands. bit.ly/3HK2QVQ

Thank you , , & everyone in the coalition. Glad to be part of the initial effort through 's D9 office that sparked a movement. A historic day for racial justice by eliminating an antiquated & racially disparate traffic law!

Conceptualizing conservatives as simply being anti-sex/sex negative is reductive and inaccurate and obscures the central role that compulsory sexuality plays in their politics. They generally view sex as another tool of social control, which is not the same as being anti-sex.

We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.

I think that as I've gotten older, and thus seen a bit more of the world, noticing all the various ways a life can go wrong—a person can fall on hard times, the unexpected disaster that lays you low, etc—the more my politics have just become about alleviating the suffering we can

Note when “the public” excludes large swaths of people from existing in public spaces because it makes the “real” members feel yucky.

Public transit doesn't work if the public doesn't feel safe on said transit. Wild to me that transit advocates want to make transit a defacto homeless shelter while also lamenting low use by the general population. Can't have both.
