A reminder to my fellow scientists: There are people who believe we shouldn't be allowed to speak out about policy. They've been silencing us since Oppenheimer was persecuted 65 years ago. Well, we will not be silent any longer. Evidence-based policy-making NOW.

The fact that SO many politicians are lawyers and SO FEW or scientists is really really detrimental.

Jess said it: the problem here is major party politics is about whether you have or can raise a fortune to fund your election. Brains or education don't matter at all. The money barrier in politics is killing everything good about our society.
