  3. It doesn’t look like it’s been covered in the US news much, but the Philippines, specifically Luzon, was hit by a series of typhoons in November and experienced catastrophic flooding. You can donate and receive critiques, art, and ARCs here:

  8. 287. One to Watch by Kate Strayman-London. Enjoyed this a lot. Fun, funny but also honest and real. Bea reads like a friend and her voice is distinct, memorable. Did find some of the romantic shenanigans to be too much but mostly, an excellent and refreshing romance. ★★★★

  9. Retweet if you can see this tweet about our ongoing KidLit for Luzon charity where you can donate to typhoon victims & redeem query/book critiques and more from participating authors, I wanna see how many are gonna ignore this. Because here's the thing --

I’m not sure what is more outrageous, that Trump still trying to overturn election results more than a month after the fact when Biden won by 7 million votes, 306 electoral votes certified & 53 cases lost in court, or that 90% of GOP complicit in this completely insane charade

  16. 286. A Rogue of One’s Own by E Dunmore. Squandered potential. Both premises have been weird but BDTD grew into it. This is mostly a mess - the author makes the wrong choices (gay villain - how backwards, the Shiva tattoo plot point - how embarrassing) & the ship doesn’t sail ★★

  19. 285. The Savage Dawn by Melissa Grey. Wavering between 3.5-4 for the finale of this dragon/bird war series. Though long, it was a pretty satisfying and fitting conclusion for Echo’s gang. Plot surprised me several times, but overall, perhaps too open-ended for my tastes. ★★★½

  20. 284. The Eye of Zoltar by Jasper Fforde. This quirky fantasy series takes an unexpected and darker turn here. Still enjoyable and creative but quickly loses the humor and lightheartedness of the prior 2. Some character arcs feel cheated in order for the ending to work. Meh. ★★

  21. 283. The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. A fun mystery set in a sprawling house with four feuding (hot) brothers. Smart, quick, enjoyable — though the subplots & relationships w/ her sister/Max could use more depth. Looking forward to the next part of the game★★★★
