Super excited for WRAD! After a day of Skype visits with classrooms, I plan to make this a family affair and read something aloud to my kids over dinner—they are teens so I will ignore 🙄— because we are NEVER too old to be read to. How will you celebrate?

I had a parent tell me during an IEP meeting today that her son likes reading again. I don't know if anything else I hear this year will be this important.

Crying in the classroom? Blubbering up over a book? During my teacher training, I had professors tell me to “check your emotions at the door.” In my early years of teaching, I would do that. But now, especially during read alouds, I’m an open door with my emotions...

Proof current book nearing deadline is on my mind at all times: I drove into the school drop off circle with kids this morning...then drove out again with kids still in the car. (“Mom, you’re supposed to let us out!”)
