The thing about Linux Foundation that I think is the root of most of my discontent is that they use the words “open source” and community but they don’t mean the same thing as what I would define those things as so let me take the time to do that.

So instead of giving the Linux foundation my support I chose to support the efforts and people that value what I value. This includes open collective, outreachy, google summer of code to name a few.

Linux foundation is necessary evil for these corporations to work together. I get that. But just be aware who actually has your back because while they may use the same terms, it’s built on bullshit. And that’s how I really feel.

And I think it’s actually quite dangerous to the younger folks joining these communities to not know the difference.

"genuine people"? You mean, people doing open source because it's simply the practical or ethical or cost-effective or most secure thing to do aren't "genuine"?
