I won't attend another Linux foundation event unless they decide to distribute more of the wealth into the hands of contributors who could actually use it.

haha. I've always wanted to talk to influencers and though leaders but cannot afford those fees to give myself such great opportunities.

OCI is tiny but we have funded IPR management, maintainers to travel to confs where employers wouldn't pay, sponsored diversity scholarships at events and fund on going conformance/tooling work because certain billion and trillion dollar companies aren't investing enough in that

The billion and trillion dollars are funding your salary to do that Chris so that excuse stops now

Unless of course you are implying that the money given to the Linux foundation each year by companies wishing to help projects should instead be given directly to the project. Why even the middle man if there seems to be a cash flow problem?

I actually feel bad I used OCI as an example because I really respect @cra and what he does for the project. Other parts of the LF make it rain in the name of marketing but OCI does spend it pretty wisely. I was poor on my part to use OCI here.

True I'm still referring to the larger sums these corporations give to LF because I'd love to have that budget to donate to projects as I please instead :)

What % of revenue does LF charge as administrative fees? For @Conservancy it is 10% - the rest is retained and spent as directed by project's leaders. SFC also publishes their std. Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement on their website - never seen one for LF so the terms remain elusive.
