Part of the problem with discursive identity politics is that people exploit these unresolved contradictions to gain social capital.

By going after others from the left, you can prove that you are ideologically purest. Important for those for whom feminism is an identity.

One possible harm is limited participation. It's understandable why some might shy away if they'll be criticized regardless of what they do.
