How is this ... allowed? I've seen a handful of these types of clips - armoured police arresting peaceful people simply speaking to them. Is there some sort of provision that allows the police to do this with impunity?
-
The provision is, “they are the ones in charge of what’s allowed”

Are you serious? None of them will be fired. None of them will be charged. That’s a joke.
-
Police get rewarded for this not punished.

There is a growing list of cops that should be fired-due to their being unfit for their very important, essential, difficult & underpaid role in society-based on their video recorded actions during these protests. We need better. The job needs accountability.

Deliberate & willful wrongful arrest shouldn't just be a firing offense, but charged as assault, unlawful confinement & a criminal violation of civil rights. It's kidnapping. The fact that we don't think of it as such is solely b/c our own warped perception.

It's adorable that you think there's any possibility of them being held accountable. From their POV and the POV of their superiors, they're doing their job and doing it well.

I can't even imagine what provoked that. Police hear that crap all the time.
-
They were baited, but it was stupid to fall for the bait.
