4/ Okay so after Twitter told me this account had been restored, I passed that message on to everyone. But it was never unlocked. I don't think Twitter intentionally lied to me but it's annoying that their system is such a mess only a journo can get answers. I just followed up.

5/ Note that there are unfair-seeming suspensions across the political system, so I don't think your own personal views on the suspended account should matter that much here. Tomorrow it could be you or an account you enjoy following -- this system is a deeply broken mess.

sure is awesome that a backdoor email to a twitter staffer is far more effective than the appeal system at achieving a review of a wrongful suspension.

It's unlikely that Twitter is silencing anyone. It's likely their algorithm is somewhat similar to Reddit's where they auto-respond once a certain number of abuse reports are made. And they check trends of the voters to figure out if the reports are genuine or part of a campaign>
