4/ "real" in the sense that yes, it seems to happen sometimes. But that's a far cry from a mom "diagnosing" her kid with a "condition" that is so controversial. You can't say for sure what's going on with these kids. That's why an article like this needs to be written more

If this isn't a new social contagion, where were all the trans female-born kids before? If they existed but couldn't trans (no treatment, too much stigma etc etc) why aren't they transitioning now, as adult women?
