But counting is only good if it is followed by bold funding and political leadership. DC and the US can end homelessness but we choose not to. We don’t need more data, more studies, or more reports. We need money. We need to treat housing as a right, not a commodity.

We need to prioritize making sure people don’t literally die outside instead of funding another aircraft carrier or developer giveaway. Without action, tonight is an exercise in data collection and not in ending homelessness. Counting is good if it leads to change.
