    Due to the threat of Dry Lightning: A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11 AM Sunday to 5 PM PDT Monday for the Santa Lucia Mountains, Los Padres National Forest, the mountains of San Benito County, and interior Monterey County. The Red Flag warning will go in effect for the North Bay Mountains, East Bay Hills, and the Diablo Range, and the Santa Cruz Mountains starting 5 PM Sunday through 5 PM PDT Monday. Isolated to scattered dry thunderstorms will be possible Sunday afternoon through early Monday afternoon. Given the dry fuels over the higher elevations, any cloud to ground lightning strikes have the potential of starting new wildfires.
    A Red Flag Warning has been issued due to the threat of dry lightning starting late Sunday morning and lasting through Monday afternoon. Be sure to stay weather aware and have a plan if a fire starts in your area.

    Berkeley’s vaccination rate is now at 68%. However, this number is misleading as it includes the population of students who stayed in their hometowns and got vaccinated elsewhere. We're working to clarify that number. All UC Berkeley students will be required vaccinations. (3/4)

    This announcement comes as cases and hospitalizations have increased over the last month, primarily caused by the spreading of the highly transmissible Delta variant. In Berkeley, we are averaging 8 cases a day, the highest rate since March 2021. (2/4)

    Thank you Chancellor Carol Christ for meeting to discuss the historic agreement between the the City and the University. In providing Berkeley with $82.6 million over the next 16 yrs, the University has laid the foundation for a new era of city-campus collaboration.
