“Voice” in writing is one of those difficult things to talk about because it’s undefinable, different from person to person, impossible to explain how to develop and also the most important thing in a story.

The only way to “teach” it (because it’s really something you need to learn on your own) that I’ve found out is to lean into writing things the way that makes you the happiest. Voice comes from confidence, confidence comes from joy.
