    Furthermore, let's extend this "not being a spectator / passer-by" concept to after we've elected someone. How much responsibility are those of us who voted for Obama willing to take for his drone bombing schools & hospitals?

    The most annoying sentiment I hear expressed on parts of self-styled leftie Twitter is "you have to EARN my vote". Nope, that's not how voting works. It's your country and your responsibility to try and make it a better/less worse place. Not pretend you're a passerby/spectator.

    The Iowa caucuses are entirely psychological and about gaming media-contrived electability narratives and when you remove this dynamic you effectively erase all the work and votes. Assuming a Sanders wins today, what happened doesnt erase all of it but does render most of it moot

    It's important to remember that you don't actually win power from the Iowa Caucus. It's about creating momentum and getting your moment in the media. So essentially they canceled the Iowa Caucus a few hours after everyone voted.

    At the end of the day, there are few significant differences between Trump, Buttigieg, & Biden. They'd continue supporting many of the same criminal policies, just like Obama But concern-trolling for right-wing neoliberal Dems like this is how you become a MSDNC guest like Mehdi

    You couldn't be more wrong if you think all these things started as soon as trump took office. Democrats gave trump unlimited military budget. They are supporting coup in Venezuela & Bolivia. It seems like you have a tunnel vision of what is happening.

    159 people from the Karen, Karenni, Chin, Mon, Shan, and Rakhine refugee communities from Myanmar came to caucus at the Karen Baptist Church in DSM. All 159 caucused for Bernie, winning all 9 county delegates. It was the first vote/caucus for over 95% of them.

    Exactly. The caucus itself may be problematic, but caucuses have existed for decades without this happening. What happened here was caused by specific people, very identifiable people who come from the rotted, corrupted heart of the establishment wing of the Democratic Party.

    The problem is not the Iowa Caucus it’s letting thieves run the Democratic Party. Saying the caucus is the issue is a way of letting thieves off the hook.
