You don't want to make eye contact with "crazies" for fear of triggering an attack yet looking away makes you vulnerable. Some people incorrectly assume they'll leave you alone if you don't bother them. Reality: they can snap and without telegraphing anything, attack unprovoked.

This is why I’m a small town/rural life type of person. The biggest threat is always people. Getting tf away from them is the best way to reduce all sorts of day to day risk & stress.
