You can’t promote a libertarian philosophy and then tell people they can’t define their pronouns. If you think that’s a compatible framework, you don’t understand libertarianism. is using libertarianism to cover for his own transphobic and racist ideology.

Calling people names instead of trying to understand their position is at the core of this problem.

Nobody is prohibited from putting their desired pronouns in their workplace bio. Anybody can request any communication preferences they want. Some have language preference in bio too. It's about what we mandate. We don't require anybody to accommodate anybody else's comms prefs.

Hi Margot, you know I love you but I think you may have got this one wrong. Jesse is trying to balance running a business with the complexities of personal identification. He was clear on the ability of people to use their pronouns while not mandating use (free speech).

It’s hard to know how much is reality and how much is NYT spin. I wasn’t in the room and NYT has an anti-crypto agenda.
I do know Jesse Powell is a good person.

Thank you. It's pretty much all cherry picking and spin. Look at what's actually in quotes and how much context is given to those quotes.
For example, does anyone disagree that from a brand/HR/Legal perspective we should not have any control on what questions recruiters ask?
There is nowhere in libertarianism that says you get to speak untruths and not bare the consequences of those untruths. So if you want to choose your pronouns, go ahead. But we don’t have to associate with people that speak untruths and we’ll call you out for it.

It's perfectly normal for someone to believe in libertarianism (or democracy, etc) but run his business as a dictatorship and his family as a commune

It's beyond interesting how so many exchanges, companies and prominent figures are all being attacked at the same time. My tinfoil hat is tingeling.

The stupidity is that NYT is claiming you are stoking a culture war when it’s clear you are trying to not be part of it.
It’s the NYT that has decided to put itself in the middle of the culture war and stoke divide. To think they used to be a place of reliable journalism.
