We might be in for some 🎆fireworks when the
@terra_money
2.0 markets go live. Some exchanges are reassigning the $LUNA ticker from Terra Classic to be used for Terra 2.0. Is it enough notice for API traders/bots? Complicated by #LUNA continuing to be used for Classic by others.

It's not uncommon for exchanges to use different symbols for a coin. Even collisions like this happen sometimes. Definitely something you need to handle carefully as an API trader, but anyone worth their salt will be experienced in doing so.

Funny example of exchanges using the same symbol for different coins: HOT on Binance is Holochain. HOT on Huobi is Hydro Protocol. Even though they're completely different coins, the relatively obscure Hydro protocol trades in the same price range as Holochain. Arbs gone wrong.

Regarding your last point about symbols within exchanges, I totally agree. Switching the meaning of a symbol from one coin to another is pretty egregious.
