2/ It is really only worth answering in the context of a society that believes it has unlimited resources to care for and raise an unlimited number unwanted children to be good adults. I think much of the debate in the US comes back to whether we are actually in that position.

Position covered in post 14. Totally fine position to hold for yourself but I think most people, when faced with lifeboat ethics scenarios will choose to abort in order to 1. save the rest of their family from demise due to food shortages, 2. save the baby from a painful death.

Food shortages is result of government intervention. When you give this much power to Gov by tricking people to think it is OK to abort life 1. You make people not accountable 2. The gov will certainly run anti-brith "programs" which historically led to demise of society.
