I heard you need to have proof of vaxx to enter the US by air as a non-resident/non-citizen. I thought this can't be true given that we can fly freely inside the country without a test or mask. Anyone know if this is true? Are there hidden exceptions (like negative test)?

Yes, airline. when I boarded the plane in Sydney they asked for proof of vaccine at checkin. And when I flew in from Mexico, I had to send proof via the Delta app before I could do the checkin.

It's enforced by the airlines themselves. You have to show your proof of vaccine when you check-in To add insult to injury, you also have to show your negative Covid test result taken within last 24 hours International travel last couple years has been an enormous drag ☹️
