I think we know who paid for this garbage. I can only conclude malice because I know they're not this dumb.
>A single Bitcoin transaction could power the average U.S. household for a month
but #BTC txn fees are < $2, and avg US utility bill is > $100?

I'm going to call my utility provider and inform them that Congress told me my bill should be $2 so I want to know why they're overcharging me by 99%.
Seems like the legacy mainframe tech is inefficient. I look forward to legislation being passed, mandating utilities go on chain

As a society, we are at an unprecedented level of idiocy. We attack the good, huge improvements over status quo, because it's not perfect. Oddly, we never look back and question why status quo must be so vigorously defended. PoS vs PoW is apples & oranges. Fiat is murder.

But I think PoS fanatics attacking PoW are actual supervillains. Game isn't zero-sum. Energy is fungible. Some things cost more energy because they're better. My laptop sucks more juice than my calculator for a reason. Both are good and can co-exist. They are not interchangeable.

And politicians better get to building nuclear. You clowns cannot even help yourselves from buying energy from your enemies. Where is our domestic energy? Human flourishing depends on abundant energy. At least Bitcoin is trying to reboot the industry, subsidizing clean/renewable.

If you think we're using more energy than we should be, let's have that discussion. What are we going to cut? Do we order by what's new or what's most useless for society? How about wars, TV? 2021 crypto tax filings alone used a jillion ziggawatts and killed 99 rainforests. /rant
