I got rear-ended once due to lack of brake lights when downshifting to slow (plus inexperienced, 16-yo driver not paying attention). Can you get off a stop in 2nd gear tho?

Sux. I really hope nobody rear ends my car 2nd gear, I haven’t done it but I’ve heard it can be done. I’m still trying to master hill starts and regular driving
