I can understand why newbie 2019 entrant might have this perspective (no offense). Us crypto boomers who have been working with lawmakers, regulators and law enforcement since <2011 have a different perspective: we've been cooperating, working very hard to pave the way all along.

Yea, I remember the ICO boom when securities lawyers across the country were actively seeking regulatory clarity and not getting it. Maybe we didn’t have lobbyists yet but the policy/legal side of the industry has been seeking clarity for years. See XRP v SEC discovery

Would be great to see centralized exchanges support Bitcoin mining & an open, free market to decide which sources of power to use to mine. Too many exchanges kowtowing to ESG crowd, & SBF + Winklevii in particular doing a fair amount of virtue signaling by buying carbon offsets
