Some job candidates check my tweets for political views. My tweets are mostly about dangerously stupid/evil govts and crypto. It's not a great format for nuance though. Would it be good or bad for recruiting to set up a sort of campaign site that lays out all my views in detail?

What kind of views? I have views on all sorts of stuff: drugs, immigration, guns, meat shields, The Prime Directive, euthanasia, abortion, suicide, religion, gender identity, housing, utilitarianism, free will, the simulation... basically all the college philosophy topics + more.

Seems like busy work. Keep building great products and recruiting folks inspired by you and the mission of what you’re building. The rest will take care of itself.

what does your VP of Talent Acquisition think? If candidates are declining offers because of your tweets, are they even someone you want at your company? They don't need to align politically, but they do need to look past political differences and want to do the work

Lol you’re the founder/ceo of one of the earliest crypto exchanges - your political views, from a surface level, coincide w that ethos. Anyone who cares enough about the nuance of your in depth political views to not take a job at kraken is not worth your time

I wouldn't set expectations that candidates need to learn all your views or anything else not directly related to the role. Ideally you want to screen for people committed to 1) decentralization, 2) FOSS, and 3) mastery & craftsmanship, and with a track record proving it.

The results so far advocating such a campaign is concerning. Putting the obvious situation of gaming such a system aside, I am surprised more people aren't concerned about the eventual degradation of diverse thought in such a system.

I think if candidates have a huge problem with you expressing yourself on Twitter then they're probably not a great fit for the role. You probably don't have anything to gain from a campaign site. Unless, of course, you're running for governor.

We've somehow never met over the years but I've always admired you. Kraken isn't the biggest, best, nor innovative exchange. But you've always been thoughtful, deliberate, moral, and put your money where your mouth is with bounties. I'd happily work at Kraken over other exchanges

If we had extreme differences in political views or even extremist ones, I'd still give you the benefit of the doubt. Your character speaks louder than disagreements of thought where I'd be curious to know why you believe those things. Keep tweeting and don't worry about it.
